Cost savings and other benefits
A key justification for the use of Occupational Rehab is that it delivers an earlier return to work than standard treatment and results in cost savings from the reduction in sick pay and replacement costs.
In addition to the direct cost savings other benefits include:
- Reduction in future absenteeism both related and unrelated to an MSI
- Freeing up HR time for more productive work
- Increased employee satisfaction, loyalty, retention and productivity
- Where income protection is provided a reduction in income protection premiums as a result of fewer employees moving on to claim income protection cover.
- Reduction in potential liability from any related claims - for example the programme will deliver measurable evidence of back strength increase and ability to work thus reducing potential loss of future earnings
- Reducing the potential for a claims culture to become established in the workplace / company
